Ruben S. Verzosa P.Eng.– President, CEO
Mr. Verzosa brings to ArcPacific more than 40 years of experience in exploration, development and mining in precious and base metals as well as oil and coal. He began his early career as a resident geologist in an underground and open pit copper and gold mine in the Philippines. A brief stint with Mobil Oil Philippines saw him involved in the regional geological mapping of the entire Philippine archipelago. Thereafter, his mineral exploration and mining experience continued in Canada working for a number of junior mining companies conducting and supervising exploration and development programs, both surface and underground. Important assignments included considerable stints with mining majors such as Teck Resources Ltd. managing major exploration and development work programs for precious and base metals and coal. In addition he assumed overall geological responsibilities for the company's Churchill copper and Beaverdell silver underground mines. With Denison Mines Ltd. Mr. Verzosa managed the company's Belcourt and Wildhay coal exploration programs. As a consulting geologist, Mr. Verzosa carried out assignments in Mexico, Central and South America, China and Indonesia. Mr. Verzosa has been a director and officer of a number of other mineral resource companies.
Nizar Bharmal - CFO, Director
Mr. Nizar Bharmal is a renowned Chartered Professional Accountant / Certified General Accountant with over 30 years of well-merited accomplishments in his field. He was granted the professional designation of CGA in 1980. Early in his career he worked in the real estate development and investment field. From 1982 until 1985 Mr. Bharmal was Manager of the Bomarc Group, a management company providing services for reporting companies. In 1985, Mr. Bharmal passed the Canadian Securities Course with honors and founded Nizar Bharmal Inc. as a public practice dedicated to providing an array of accounting services, including Canadian and US taxation, financial consulting and corporate management for reporting companies. During his career, he has served as CEO and CFO for several publicly listed companies, where he has gained deep insight into both operations and regulatory affairs. Mr. Bharmal’s extensive association with and commitment to local business communities has resulted in admiration and confidence from many of his colleagues.
Stephen Tong - Director
Mr. Stephen Tong received a B.A. in 1992 from the University of British Columbia and his LL.B. in 1998 from the University of Manitoba. Stephen has a corporate and securities practice with particular emphasis on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance matters in the natural resource sector. He has a variety of corporate clients, both domestic and international, that he has advised on such transactions as plans of arrangement, amalgamations and other forms of merger transactions, related party transactions, divestitures, initial and secondary public offerings, private placement financings, corporate governance matters and other securities law transactions. Stephen primarily acts as counsel for corporate clients listed on the TSX Venture Exchange which are engaged in the mining and oil and gas industry sectors, but has also acted as counsel for underwriters from time to time.
Collin Kim – Director
Mr. Sang Goo Kim (aka Collin Kim) has a bachelor degree of business administration in Korea University, Seoul, Korea in 1990. He came to Vancouver, Canada in 2006 after he had worked for Hanwha Corp., one of Korean business conglomerates for 16 years, where he was dedicated to International trading business for various industrial products. He had spent 1 year in Bangkok, Thailand with a scholarship from Hanwha Corp. and 5 years in Jakarta, Indonesia as a chief representative of Jakarta office of Hanwha Corp., having extensive experiences in trading Petrochemical products, pursuing coal mine investment opportunities, dealing with Indonesian arm forces for various defense products and so on. Throughout his work experiences in Hanwha Corp., Mr. Kim had gained multicultural exposures and wide knowledge on international business and project. Mr. Kim became involved in Cree East Uranium project as well as Waterbury Uranium project as an liaison for Korean Consortium. He also took significant roles as a consultant in other uranium, unconventional gas investments between Canadian firms and major Korean state-owned firms. Recently, he has deeply involved in the transaction between Plate Resources Inc. and Korea Resources Corp. as a key consultant to facilitate a transaction. He is working on several projects and business opportunities with major Korean firms.
